White House Glam

This weekend was the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. But you would have thought that it was the Golden Globes or the Oscars based on how many dazzling celebs attended and walked the red carpet. [What is the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, you might ask? It’s a dinner held by the White House and all money raised during it goes towards journalism scholarships and awards. See here for more info. ]

My only question is: who invited Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian? Really?

Here are my favorites:

Reese Witherspoon looks amazing in this Monique Lhuillier dress. But her jewelry is what does it for me. She is wearing tuquoise Irene Neuwirth earrings and ring. She is glowing.

Charlize Theron looks amazing in this nude and black Pucci gown.

Dakota Fanning looks stunning in this dreamy ice blue Prada sparkly wonder.

Elizabeth Banks in Antonio Berardi. Love the color, love the peplum, love the hair, makeup and accessories. Perfect.

I like this quirky Oscar de la Renta on Zooey Deschanel. The gray is lovely on her. It could use a bit of hemming, though.

Kate Hudson is absolutely stunning in her purple sequin Jenny Packham gown.

And now, those who should have hired a stylist. Or at least a better stylist.

Oy, Lindsay Lohan. I don’t know who this dress is by, but it’s just bad prom. It’s wrinkled, fits poorly in the top and just looks old fashioned. Perhaps she was going for something a bit more demure than her courtroom attire. Someone please help her.

Kim Kardashian’s face looks lovely, but I am not feeling this deep green velvet gown. Maybe it’s because velvet is more of a winter fabric. Or maybe I’m still just confused as to why she was invited.

I hate to do this to Viola Davis because I loved her throughout awards season, but I do not like this dress. The color is pretty amazing on her, but I hate the draping in the bust. Not my favorite.

I am so glad there were so many celebrities at this dinner. I was starting to miss doing the best/worst dressed celebrities. šŸ™‚
