Sweet Sandals

It’s no secret that I harbor a crazy love of wedges. But I’m actually an equal opportunity sandal lover. Flat, heeled, or wedged, they make are the perfect summer shoes. So without further ado, my top 10 sandals:

Starting with flats. I love flat sandals because they look hip and chic with casual summer wear. Pair them with a pair of shorts and a tank or a mini and a tee. They are also great for casual summery dresses and skirts. (Not in any particular order)

10.

I am a huge fan of flip flops – in a casual setting. These from Banana Republic are great because they’re good quality leather flip flops that will last longer than your typical rubber ff. And I reallllllly like this color!

9.

I included these in my birthday post, but I will include them here as well. These have a slight wedge, but I still include them in the flat category. They come in 7 colors. J’adore!

8.

These Sam Edelman t-strap flats are classic. They can be worn for summers to come!

7.

I absolutely love these Tory Burch flip flops. I would never pay that much for sandals, but I can still love them from afar.

6.

I adore an ankle strap on a flat sandal. And these by Rachel Zoe are perfect. Again, way out of my price range, but still amazing.

5.

These aren’t quite as great as the Rachel Zoe pair above, but they’re still pretty crave-able. And I much prefer this style of toe versus the other.

4.

I have a major problem with Steve Madden heels and flats [mostly having to do with price v. quality] but their sandals are usually pretty great. I love the cage look on the heel of these and the variety of colors.

3.

These are the most gladiator-ish pair that I’ve included. I love the price, too!

2.

I LOVE this pair of embellished turquoise by Ivanka Trump. I would definitely wait for these to go on sale, but I think they are the perfect dressy flat sandal for summer!

1.

Love the color [also available in orange and black!] and patent. And love the strappy-ness of these!

Since I already devoted an entire post to wedges, I am not going to elaborate. See wedge post here.

Heeled sandals are great because they can be worn for dressy summer occasions. They are perfect for work in the hot weather months. The older I get, the less I want to go to work with my foot exposed [I’m getting prudish in my old age, I guess], but as long as the shoe is dressy enough, I think it’s appropriate to wear sandals to work. No flip flops.

10.

These are great for a low heel, conservative sandal. The ankle strap gives it a little extra style, but this is a great option for the office.

9.

These Kors heels are super sexy. Perfect for a cocktail party or wedding [also in a tan color if the black is too severe for your outfit]. I absolutely love these!

8.

These green sandals would be perfect with a nude sheath for work or paired with dark denim crops and a tank for a night out.

7.

Metallic heeled sandals are a must for the summer. Gold is my metallic of choice because of its versatility, but silver is also a good choice. These Badgley Mischkas are fab.

6.

Cobalt. Pair with yellow. Amazing.

5.

A chunky heels is great because it is more comfortable for long wear. These nude sandals from Asos would be great for work or for a night out!

4.

You shouldn’t be surprised that I would choose a coral sandal. These would be great with any LBD or LWD, for work or for play.

3.

Zippers are cool, no?

2.

My heart skipped when I saw these. It was love at first sight.

1.

Classic, chic, fabulous. You can wear these for years and years to come. Also available in the most fabulous pink I’ve ever seen.

Disclaimer: I did my very best to watch the prices of the shoes. But the Kate Spades and Manolo Blahniks at the end lured me away from that promise. The heart wants what the heart wants.

  1. Bravo! I loved the Kate Spade and Manolo finish, but also really loved the green Steve Maddens (too bad about the brand) and birthday shoes. The Manolos make me want to sell an organ!
