I am a solid color fashion lover. Rarely will you find me in any kind of pattern. But times are ch-ch-changin. One of my goals for the summer is to wear more fun patterns, and I am drawing my pattern-spiration from 3 of the ultimate pattern masters: Trina Turk, Lilly Pulitzer and Milly! These 3 designers create patterns that are fun, young and vibrant but are still chic and sophisticated. The perfect combination!
Trina Turk is a tried and true California designer. Her collections are often full of patterns and bright colors with a groovy 70’s feel. I adore her clothing, and I am trying to decide which piece I want!
The late Lilly Pulitzer drew her inspiration from her home in Palm Beach, Florida. Lilly designs remind me of beautiful watercolors from the impressionist paintings of the early 1900s. But brighter and sunnier! While most of the designs are bright pinks, greens and blues, you can also find some chic navy and white prints!
Milly was founded by designer Michelle Smith, and is all about uber chic, well fitting clothing. The designs are sophisticated, but the beautiful fabrics and patterns keep it fun!
