Fall’s Color Palette

I hope you have all had a beautiful and relaxing Labor Day weekend. I was fortunate enough to spend my weekend in Nashville celebrating an amazing couple as they said ‘I do.’ It was an absolute blast and I was so sorry when it was over. But now the couple is jetting off to Italy and I back at home contemplating fall and glorious arrival!

The trending colors this fall are not unexpected – and they all compliment each other beautifully. So to kick off the fall blog posting season, I am thrilled to start with the fabulous colors that are popping up all over the place.

  1. Blush. Everyone needs to add blush to their wardrobes this fall. It’s soft and romantic and flattering on all skin tones. If you only listen to one piece of advice I give you, it’s to embrace blush this fall. I love it in a silky blouse or a blazer. My favorite color pairings with blush: tan, black, navy [expected], but also burgundy and olive green [less expected].

This sleeveless blazer is a double trend whammy. Also looks great with skinny jeans in place of a blazer for a night out!

2. Burgundy. Burgundy is the color I think of first when I think of fall. As soon as the air turns crisp, bust out the burgundy. It’s best worn with neutrals like black, ivory and tan [and blush, as shown above]. If you want to be a bit more daring, wear burgundy from head to toe. Here are my favorite fall items in the shade.

I adore pretty much everything in the Banana Republic fall collection in burgundy. Check it out here – I dare you to choose only 1 item!

Zara. LOVE!

Theory. Looking for a reason that I need a burgundy suit.

BB Dakota – this is a great transitional dress!

J.Crew Factory. Perfect with jeans for a casual weekend look.

If you want to work burgundy into your wardrobe via footwear, I love loafers in this shade. Firth via Gilt.

Additionally, you  can find a burgundy pencil skirt at virtually every retailer right now, which is a great way to bring this trendy shade into your office wardrobe for fall!

3. Vibrant cobalt. I have always been a fan of the bright blue hue, but this fall it is EVERYWHERE. It looks great with black – and it is a great color for your fall jacket this year!

New York & Company

I also love a sheath dress in a bright blue instead of black, gray or navy – it’s a great way to add a pop of color into your office looks! Pair with black tights, booties and silver jewelry!

Felicity & Coco via Nordstrom.

Banana Republic. Once again, I covet everything in their fall collection!

4. Camel. What I love most about camel is that it is a neutral and can be worn with virtually any outfit! You don’t need to start small with a scarf or bracelet with this one! It’s great with color or with other neutrals – and I really love it as a look from head to toe.

Theory sweater, in cashmere. This is the perfect fall sweater, if you ask me!

Zara. Trade in your black or navy blazer for this camel version!

Ann Taylor.

Camel pairs very well with leopard!

The sky is dark and the temperature is turning just a bit chilly. Fall is on it’s way, my friends! ❤
