2015 Holiday Gift Guide

We are less than a week away from Black Friday, so to help you prepare for the biggest shopping day of the year, I present my annual holiday gift guide! I always struggle how to organize the guide – by gender, by personality, by price. So I try to mix it up each year, see what works best. This year, I still don’t have a magical formula, but it’s arranged in a way that makes sense in my brain at least.

For the ladies. For your moms, sisters, daughters, wives, nieces, friends – here are the things they she really wants this year!

Check out the Color Bar at your nearest Kendra Scott store or online! You can choose the type of item [earrings, necklace, bracelets, ring], the style, metal color and stone color. Delicate styles are trendy right now and the above necklace is a great choice! You can design her a custom piece according to her favorite colors and styles in a range of prices!

I am also enchanted by all things Kate Spade jewelry right now. Any of the pieces available would make an excellent gift!

I love these Athleta pants! They are fitted, but loose at the bottom, as opposed to the tight leggings that I typically wear. If you are buying for a fitness lover, these are a great option!

Winter months call for a cute jacket for gym motivation. I love this style from Old Navy, and the price point is great!

If your giftee has the same kind of lash and liner obsession as I do, these two sets are perfect! With sample sized mascaras and eye liners, she can try them all and find her favorite!

To help her keep her skin soft, check out this face mask gift set. I can vouch for the fresh line of beauty, especially their sugar lip balms!

I love when I get a clutch for a gift, because it’s usually not the type of item I buy for myself. And for someone who loves going out and not dragging a big bag around, this Rebecca Minkoff clutch is much needed!

The plaid/flannel boyshirt look is very trendy, so gift this J.Crew shirt to person who is feeling the flannel.

I always think sweaters make great gifts. I like this slouchy style from Madewell! Available in a variety of colors, it’s perfect for layering with a pair of leggings or jeggings.

I adore the combo of waffle and cable knit in these Michael Kors gloves. Available in many colors!

Gifts for the gents. For your husbands, sons, fathers, boyfriends, nephews, friends.

What guy doesn’t want a bottle cap map of the U.S.? Won’t he feel so accomplished with each bottle cap he puts in there from around the country?

If your guy is into beard grooming, this is the gift for him! My husband loves the beard lube! This is a good kit for him to try these products and see if they work for him.

The love of sweater gifting extends to men as well! Shawl neck sweaters are really trendy for men this year!

Buffalo check is everything. If he isn’t into the lumberjack look, try these socks from Banana Republic.

A nice trimmer for face, hair…nose maybe. Men love to groom too!

I would guess that 98% of men are excited about the new Star Wars movie [and a lot of ladies. I ❤ Star Wars!]. Of those 98% of men, I’m also guessing that 100% would love to drink their water, coke, scotch with death star shaped ice cubes.

Rubs for grillin’ a la Williams Sonoma. Great stocking stuffer!

The Corkcicle ‘Chillsner’ beer chiller [I just really wish I came up with this name]. To keep his beer cold!

Those are my gender specific gift ideas, but there are a number of other items that could go either way – gifts for the home, for travelers, grillers, cooks and bakers, coffee & tea lovers, wine & beer & cocktail lovers, tv and movie lovers, book lovers, adventurers, techies. Gifts for everyone!

Who doesn’t love drinking out of a glass with their initial on it?

If you’re gifting someone who loves mercury glass, these candle holders from West Elm are a great price and so pretty! Put together a little basket with different styles and include the candles!

I am going to continue putting these Pottery Barn faux fur throws on my gift guide until I own one. They make great gifts!

Art via Ikea. Ikea has a great selection of prints for low low prices – makes it so easy to constantly update your decor.|gifts-travel|

This is a leather pouch that holds all of your cords rolled up when you’re traveling. It would be nice to have all of my cords in one place when I open up my suitcase, no?

This is a scrapbook-like book where you can collect memories from events. So cool!

Mini pizza stones for the grill from Sur la Table. Grilled pizza is so delicious!

Stainless steel grilling skewers. Great for those who try to eat healthy!

Magnets that give you the measurement conversions. Genius! Anyone else out there get a headache just thinking about doing that math? If I’m going to be baking, I need it to be as easy as possible.

A digital read measuring cup! So that all of your baked goods turn out with perfectly measured ingredients!

The Williams-Sonoma smart tool for iPad. This includes a stand for your iPad, a speaker and screen shield to help with your cooking!

Lower tech but almost as helpful, an iPad stand for in the kitchen for your Pinterest recipe making!

This travel tea mug solves the issue of loving loose tea but also needing the convenience of to-go tea drinking. Perfect solution for the tea lover on your list!

For your coffee addicts on the list, put together a basket of yummy coffees and fixings. Target has a wide variety of brands!

A chic Kate Spade wine tote for your wine-loving, party-going friend!

Pint glasses with built-in bottle openers! Easy drinkin!

Mad Men: The Complete Collection. Fans of the show can go back to the very beginning when Peggy  was just a homely secretary. Comes with two high ball glasses as well.

Fans of Amy Schumer can’t miss her debut movie. Laugh out loud funny!

A biography of a very interesting man for the entrepreneur on your list.

If your giftee is looking to transition from a book reader to an e-reader, check out the newest version of the Kindle Paperwhite.

Fans of thrillers like Gone Girl will devour this book.

For the cable-less TV lovers, the apple tv is a must. This new 4th generation has a Siri remote and all of the apps you could possibly need to watch your favorite shows.

The Amazon Echo is one of the hottest new techie tools – voice activated, you can listen to music, ask questions, set an alarm, turn out your lights. Technology is amazing!

If you would prefer to gift more of an experience than material items, think about some of the local attractions. Here in St. Louis, the Zoo and Missouri Botanical Garden memberships make great gifts, especially for those with kids. They often include perks such as free parking and admission to special exhibits.

Also think about sporting event and concert tickets. Again, St. Louis is home to a lot of great event venues [the Fox, Scottrade, Peabody Opera House, Chaifetz], so check their websites for events. It can be much more fun and meaningful to share a memory with someone rather than giving something of material value.

I hope this gift guide is helpful to you all as you navigate the fun [and stress] of holiday shopping. Just remember, it’s the thought behind the gift that really counts, not how much you spend! I also realize that most of us are on a budget for our holiday shopping, so stay tuned for a budget holiday gift guide – all gifts under $50!
