Starting a new year makes me want to just refresh my entire wardrobe. Out with the old and in with the new and stuff, am I right? But after all of the holiday spending we did, a new wardrobe isn’t exactly in my budget. But you can make little purchases here and there to help update your closet without sacrificing your electricity. Think about what you already own, hopefully lots of classics, and then add in some trendy pieces. Here are some of my ideas!
If you don’t have a flannel yet, just go out and get one. Right now, please. Your flannel, jeans/leggings and boots will become your new go-to winter look. The shrunken boy shirt from J.Crew is my favorite right now but here are some other options:
Joe’s Jeans via Bloomingdale’s
A boyfriend blazer – menswear inspired silhouettes are very trendy right now, so pair your skinny jeans and loafers with a longer looser blazer!
Flare jeans & pants! Don’t be afraid to wear bell bottoms! You know that it’s one of my New Year’s resolutions, so make it yours too! Wear with a 70s style printed top or just a tee.
Paige via Anthropologie.
Believe it or not, turtlenecks are all the rage this winter. Go bold & chunky or tissue thin and sleek!
Vince via Nordstrom. Pair this turtleneck with your flare jeans!
Lastly, the Zara sale is going on right now, so buy anything and everything at that sale and you’ll be good to go!
Who doesn’t need gold metallic booties?
This floral print dress is the perfect ’70s dress!
